I am usually not a letter writer; but upon arrival at our Cashiers retreat this past June, my wife’s knee which she injured at a local gym in Winter Haven before we left, really started hurting her.
Our good friends referred us to Dr. Plauché at the hospital complex. Thank God for him and his wonderful team. My bride’s (47 years) knee is as good as new!

After undergoing a total right elbow replacement at a large university hospital, my arm swelled exceedingly and I began to run a high fever. As sick as I was, I made an appointment with Dr. Matthews at HCH. I had developed pneumonia and blood clots in my lungs. I am grateful for his expertise, and each staff member’s professional care and genuine concern. Their positive attitudes and daily smiles motivated me on my road to better health. Today, I am feeling great and after physical therapy sessions, I have made a full recovery. My Heartfelt Thanks to Everyone at HCH.

"I want to publicly thank the Highlands-Cashiers Hospital team that took such great care of me during a recent trip to the ER and an unexpected two-day hospital stay. Dr. Craig Moore in the ER, Dr. Richard Carter, Gastroenterologist, and Dr. Richard Matthews, Family Medicine, provided highly competent care and prevented a potentially dangerous infection from ever becoming a reality. The OR team rushed back to the hospital for my emergency procedure after a long day shift. Radiology administered my diagnostic exams with the latest technology and equipment. The night shift lab technician and my nurses made me feel like there was no other patient. The hospital was pristine clean. Everyone was so upbeat and positive for me with smiles and greetings while they went about their work. I felt that I was being cared for by my extended family! I am truly grateful for the real Blessing we have in this hospital and its dedicated team of caregivers. Our hospital is truly a blessing.

that I have been a patient in large hospitals in Jacksonville
including The Mayo Clinic and have never been treated with more

"This is a letter to express my gratitude and praise for your ER
nurse, Terry Potts. We brought my mother in last week with a possible
broken ankle. We were on vacation from Florida, visiting family in
Highlands. Needless to say it was a very stressful situation to have
happen being so far from home. Nurse Potts was very caring, friendly
and efficient. He was unlike any ER nurse that we have ever
experienced. He put us immediately at ease with his bedside manner.
Unfortunately, my mother's ankle was broken, but having Nurse Potts
work with us made things a little more bearable! I just felt that he
needs to be recognized for his outstanding service!"
